Neither rain nor sleet, nor snow...nor mud stays Debbie Pingel from the swift completion of her appointed rounds. Mother Nature turned the North Central Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier at ROMP MX into a messy mud race. It wasn't pretty, but neither is the Amateur National Championship. Loretta Lynn's is anything but a run through the park. Mother Nature and MX Sports make sure of that. The competition is fierce and sometimes the track is three feet of the finest Tennessee slop. This is what distinguishes the professionals from the amateurs, so to speak. It took mental strength and physical toughness to prevail. Qualifying in such harsh conditions makes the effort sweeter. Those who didn’t can grow from the grueling experience.
Pingel captures the good, the bad, and the ugly from Saturday’s motos.
